Specialist Card Guide

Specialist cards have their own level. To level the card, you kill monsters. The card will level up the same way as your job level. Also, as your specialist card's job lvl increases, so will your basic class' job lvl. If you're in ranger form, and you were to kill monsters, your job lvl would go up, but at the same time, your basic class, the archer's job lvl will also go up.

Leveling up your card is how the specialist will learn it's skills. Generally, specialists gain skills every 2 job levels. Once the card reaches level 20, for every level after that, the card will gain attribute points which can be added to attack, defense, element and hp/mp. Here is a picture of my card. As you can see I've added all the points to attack. Also, I have 2 extra points that I have not used yet. I will explain in a little bit.

Upgrading Your Card

The card can be upgraded at Raul. Once at Raul click the card upgrade tab. Drag your card to the slot, make sure you have the required items(will get into this in a little bit), and click starting upgrade. Before you upgrade be aware of the risks.

Specialist cards can be upgraded starting from lvl 21+. So basically, after your specialist has learned all it's skills, you can start upgrading the card. If you look above at my ranger card, circled in yellow, you can see that it has been upgraded 3 times. Upgrading your card will add additional attribute points to your specialist card, which can then be used to beef up your specialists even more. The card can be upgraded a total of 15 times. Like with most upgrades in Nostale, after each upgrade the chance for the next upgrade will be less.

Risks of Upgrading Card

Upgrading your card sounds great doesn't it?! It beefs up your card and makes you stronger. Unfortunately, there are risks. You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you? When you upgrade, there will be a succes %, disabled %, failure %. Both disabled and failure are both bad. You don't want those. Your card may become useless.

When this happens, you have to get a new card which means you have to do the whole quest over again, at the same time losing all that valuable work you put into the card. Or, you can buy a soul revival stone from the nosmall which requires real money. There is also one more option.
There are these things called Lower Protection Scrolls and Upper Protection scrolls or LPS and UPS for short. These are also cash items, but they are quite common in the nostale Private Shop area so even if you don't have any noscash they can be purchased relatively easily. These will protect your card from being destroyed. As an added bonus, they also save the shining soul(one of the items required to upgrade card). LPS are used for upgrade 1-10. UPS are used for the last 5 upgrades. Right now, the price for these scrolls ranges from 120k-150k.
Items Required for Upgrading

To upgrade the card, you will need certain items. Wing of Angel is the most common. Then there are the shining souls. Shining Green Soul, Shining Red Soul, and Pure Souls are all used to upgrade the cards. Wing of Angels are relatively easy to find. The souls are a little more difficult.Various monsters drop the Wings and Souls. Finally you will need full moons. I don't know if monsters drop full moons. I usually get them from Raids. I believe they can also be refined. There are also mini games where you can get them, if you at least get to level 5, I believe. O.. I forgot. You will also need gold. At higher levels, you'll need a good amount.

Wing of Angel

Shining Green Soul

Shining Red Soul

Shining Pure Soul

Full Moon

Upgrading and Wings

You can upgrade your card a total of 15 times. Each time you upgrade, you will be given points to add to your card's attributes. Wings will also be displayed depending on what level your card has been upgraded to. Finally, depending on what level of upgrade, will determine what items are required in order to upgrade.

Side Note: The question marks don't mean that I don't know. The game doesn't show you the success rate and what not after lvl 10 wings.

Adding Points to Your Specialist Card

Look above once again to my ranger card. It has Attack, Defense, Element and Hp/Mp. That's where the attribute points can go into. Now when adding points, there are bonuses and restrictions when you add a certain amount of points. To begin, here's what each stat does.

Attack- increases attack power
Defense- decreases short range, long range, magic damage
Element- adds element to attack when you attack something
Hp/Mp- adds certain % of Hp/Mp

Now there are bonuses and restrictions when you add the points. When you add enough points to a certain stat, the requirement goes up for how many points you need to put in. Once again, take a look at the ranger card. You can see I have 2 extra points. However I did not use them because I need 3 points to increase the attack stat. These are the exhausted points.

Also, when you increasingly add points, the value the stat rises will also change. Also when you've added enough points to a certain stat, there will be a bonus as increase attack power. Here are the exhausted points, bonuses, and and rising value for each stat. These are the value rises points. I know it's kind of confusing. Here's the chart for adding stat points to the attack value of your card( to see all the charts for adding points to your specialist card go to the Point Chart guide). Hope this clears things up a little.

Attack

1-10 1 5
11-19 2 6
20 3 6
21-30 3 8

Total 410 1000
